Drug Wars
News from the Front
November 6, 2011
Our world is what we make of it. I have been reading Melody Beaty's The Language of Letting Go recently. It really helps me gain perspective on where I'm at and how to provide help for those who happen to ask.
Last time I wrote about photos of the great depression. I turned it into a YouTube video called Making the Generation we call The Greatest Generation. It gave me a new insight about though times and how they make people tough. But beyond that it generally helps to make people more compassionate.
In the history section 2011, shared two epilogues of two people who appeared in two of my films: First one was that Josh Sales from Drug Wars - It Could Happen to You died from drug related causes and Ricky Story from The Cage Fighter, has gone on to the big show as they call it in mixed martial arts. The comparison between the two is very compelling.
Josh was a musician and wanted to be involved with music. He made a bad choice at one time to use. Probably did it on the advice of a friend or someone that he trusted. Then there was Ricky who made a different choice. I don't know what the circumstances of either choice was but I only know the result. It just goes back to the thing that I have always said, I have heard numerous stories about drugs and people and have yet to hear a positive story unless in was someone chose not to do them or to quit them.
If you haven't had the chance to watch Drug Wars - Who Will Cry for Our Children, please do so and pass it along. You should be able to get a copy from your local library. If they don't have it tell them to order one.
I also hear about the legalization of marijuana in different states. Do you have an opinion? Your feedback is welcome. If you keep it intelligent and appropriate, I will publish it here. I would love to hear from you.
