A Message from the Director
How can we win the war on drugs?

The best advice I ever heard about illicit drug use came from Carroll O'Conner the television star (Archie Bunker in All In The Family) whose son Hugh died because of drugs. Carroll said. "Do what ever you can to get between your child and drugs." Carroll died a few years after the death of his son. I believe he died from a broken heart.

On this site you will find several films that deal with substance abuse. These are true stories. You will meet the people whose lives have been dramatically effected by substance abuse.

All drugs are dangerous and I don't care what anyone says, I've interviewed thousands of people about drug and substance abuse. I have yet to hear a good drug story - unless it included the statement "and then I got off drugs."

Think they know better? Are you willing to bet the life of someone you love on that fact? Don't trust their lives to anyone else. If you are talking about your children, did you teach them to look both ways when they cross the street? You may be interested that more children die from overdoses than from being run down by vehicles.

I made these films to teach our children. They tell the truth. I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours developing these films. I have no axe to grind nor do I have to answer to anyone. They were not funded by any government agency or any other organization. They were funded by me.

The truth is that over the past 50 years, I have watched many friends and family members die and/or hurt other the people who loved them because of their substance abuse. Most of these films are of people telling their own true story.

I know how powerful these stories are. Here is how I know: In 1999 and 2000 we broadcast One Family's Battle on 26 different television stations here in Oregon. The results were spectacular.  Not only did they create huge awareness about the addictive properties of Heroin, but heroin-related deaths for the next two years declined significantly. We know that the film contributed to the decline because beginning the day after the broadcasts in Eugene, Oregon intake calls to several drug treatment centers doubled and the increase in calls continued for several weeks following the broadcasts.

The length of the films vary from 23 to 30 minutes. Make yourself comfortable and get ready to learn. You will find a discussion guide link on the page for each film. You may want to print out the discussion guide and take notes. Take the time and make it a family night of learning this important survival skill. Teach your children to live their lives free of any addiction.

Everything on this site was put here with the thought of giving you unbiased accurate information to help you make an informed decisions about this so very important topic.

I'd love to have some feedback about these films and my site. Let me know what other topics you would like me to cover.

May you enjoy the blessings of your family and children and grandchildren. Because winning the war on drugs means that you and your family can live a life of fulfillment, freedom and joy instead of having an evil master of deceit and death. God bless you.

Sincerely,

Tom Monson

P.S. If you can tell me something good coming through illegal drug use, I would love to hear it. I will publish it on this site.
